  • 200hp 1995 overheating

    I guys: I have Yamaha 200 hp 1995,with new water pump,termos,presure valve and then continue overheating. I look for any obstruction in lower parts,and i can see any wrong. What i need to do.

    test thermo switches

    if its a saltwater motor may need to pull water jackets and clean

      Did you get this issue solved. I havea 95 200 also that overheats at 2500 rpm. New pump thermos, poppet. Is scale build up that much of an overheat issue

        recheck the water pump housing

        I had a similar problem turns out the o-ring came unseated and a black rubber bushing that seals to the water tube was completely missing and not in the rebuild kit.

          If its used in salt water and not flushed, ABSOLUTLY.. My neighbor had a similar engine, same issues.. We ended up pulling both heads. The lower two cylinder jackets were 90% clogged with salt(3-4" deep thick).
