  • Tilt-Trim cylinder leak

    Yamaha 2004 50HP two stroke (model # 50TLRC)

Fluid is leaking from around the ram in the tilt-trim cylinder. I assume that one or more of the "O" rings and/or seals in the piston sub assembly need replacing. Is there a kit containing the necessary parts to rebuild the sub assembly or do I need to order the parts separately? There seem to be a lot of rings and seals in this assembly and I'm not sure which ones I would need.

Also, does anyone know what special tools would be required to do this job properly?

    Thanks for any help.

If it's leaking at ram then it would need seal and orings in the cap which are not sold seperate. You would have to get the piston sub assemble.

        trim rod assembly

Is the same true for the '01 HPDI 200? I was able to purchase the seals individually but can't figure out how to get the trim cap off the ram rod. Thanks in advance.
