  • Digital Tach Overheat blinker

I have a 2005 115 two stroke with digital tach and speedo. The temperature indicator on the tach blinks all the time, even if the motor is not running. According to the manual this means the engine is overheating, but if it has not run for days how could this be? During operation there is a strong stream from the water passage and no leaks in the motor or shaft area. While running it never triggers the alarm or reduces rpm. I assume this has something to do with an incorrect dip switch setting or possibly a thermo switch.

    Can anybody help?

not sure bout your motor but I had to connect the grey wires at the harness connections on motor for my system to work correctly.

Check your dip switch settings, I had a similar problem on a F200 except with the low oil flashing.
      Yamaha faxed me the diagram.
