  • 2004 90 2s - ignition switch

had problems in the past with what I thought was a bad ground, disconnected batteries and cleaned them up, before that I would not get anything when I turned the key unless I jumped ground from battery to starter, after I cleaned up the connections, everything was fine, started the engine 7-8 times, with no problem, got home to flush, and nothing, not even a reading on the fuel gauge, or nothing from the trim switch on the remote, but the tilt switch on the engine worked fine. I wiggled the wires going into the starter, then I shifted the remote quickly, and now things are okay again (for now). where can I find a schematic for the key switch? I have a yamaha manual and the ignition is not in there. Would the neutral safety switch cut power from the trim and fuel gauge? Does anyone have any ideas?
    thanks in advance

I found a short in the 10 pin harness on the boat side of the cannon plug connection on the engine, ripped it out, measured it and ordered one, what a pain in the a$$.

Good troubleshooting there - how did you find it?
