    Maybe it could be his issue,
    but he said the motor was not getting hot and he has no idea what is happening because his gauges/alarms are not functioning from what I read

      Well, you know how "touchy" the housing is for the SS cup. Any warpage can cause over heating.

      Being clocked 1/4 turn is a bunch, especially since Yamaha put tabs to keep it in place...

      IDK how much water volume he was loosing but obviously he would have..

        I have found that cutting the wire tie on the PCV hose and disconnecting the hose makes checking and replacing the PCV spring and button much easier.
