  • replacing tilt/trim motor in 2005 f90

I need to replace the tilt/trim motor on my outboard. Is it possible to remove the trim motor and replace it, while leaving the tilt assembly attached to the outboard. From the diagrams, it appears that I could remove the upper pin from the ram, or the lower pin from the hydraulic pump assembly and swing the assembly to gain access to all 4 screws from the trim motor.

Thanks in advance for comments and help.

It was a few years ago so the memory is fuzzy, but I replaced the T/T motor on my F90 without disassembling anything else.

IIRC they are socket head (Allen) screws; a little slow going on the "back" two but do-able.

      Thanks,
I will try that first. Looks like the 2 front ones and the port side one that is behind the motor are easily accessed, that starboard one behind the motor is going to be difficult. I am going to try. Will be 2 weeks before I have time, I will report back.
