    no
    its not the same.
kinda like comparing the space shuttle to a paper airplane.
where do you backyardigans come up with this stuff??????
some tensioners have a hydraulic piston and are self adjusting, some are just an idler pulley that needs periodic maint.
    depends on the engine.
but most yamahas are painted a silver blue color.

Just saw TWO different Yamaha OB's, one painted BLACK, and one WHITE (300 or 250 HP's) at the marina yesterday..

Looked like a Merc and an Evinrude!!!

Simply look up each engine in the "Purchase Yamaha parts" fisch above (in RED letters).

Both tensioners are spring loaded. The F150, an internal spring, the F115 and external spring. Both listed under the "valve section"..

The spring is only used for adjusting the tensioner when you loosen the bolt.
The F150 uses a dynamic hydraulic tensioner (ooooooh sophisticated).
