    that old of a motor I would not think a low voltage alarm would exist.
    disconnecting the wire to a over temp should tell if that was a problem
    oil, would take some more wiring trouble shooting

    Alarm triggered by key turn is usually indicative of cranking battery low volts.

    I'm weak on antique 2-strokes.

    But why would Yamaha design an engine to alarm - at key on -
    from a heat sensor ? to what end?
    what would you do - just go away and wait for it to cool down?
