  • F225 Zinc Issue

My 2002 F225 came with a "u"-shaped zinc on the transom bracket. When the yard installed the engine they found that the zinc couldn't be installed because the outdrive bracket on my Grady has a splashplate that is too close to the bottom of the engine transom bracket. So now there's no zinc mounted directly to the engine. There's a zinc mounted to the outdrive bracket but not the outboard. Any ideas of how to go about mounting a zinc on this engine?

    Offshore24,
As long as there is good electrical connection between the outboard and the outdrive bracket, and as long as the "remote" zinc is mounted no higer than the original, then the remote zinc will do its job - and, of course, you still have the trim tab which is also a sacrificial zinc anode.
    Good luck,
    Ken K
