  • 06 4strk RPM's?

    I have a 06 4strk jet drive(F40EJR) and I only hit 5200 RPM's at WOT, shouldn't I be able to get a little more rpm's? Any thoughts or advice?

That is within rpm range but it's on low side of range, about the only thing you can do is to adjust motor height up a little on transom.

I've already tried that, I'm as high as I can go now. It's always been this way since new, what I don't know is if the motor just doesn't have enough power to raise RPM's or if it's something fixable. Thing is no matter if the boat is loaded or empty RPM's only vary from 5100 to 5200 WOT.

Prop engines you can change prop to raise rpm's but jet drive there are not any other inpeller of different pitch available so there's not much you can do. You might have the engine checked out to make it is running like it should.
