Tach for '98 115hp 2-stroke

I'm in need of a new multifunction tach for my 1998 115hp Yami 2-stroke, as the LCD has gone out on my original (#6Y5-2818R-30).

After reading posts about replacing yami tachs, I'm still a little confused as to what tach to get as the replacement, and and if there's other parts I need to make it work. I've been seeing talk about adapter harnesses and making new electrical connections, so I just want to make sure I'm clear on the unit and the process.

1994-2004 models use 6Y5-8350T-82-00 Multifunction Tach with no adapters needed.
