  • Gear Case costing a ton?

I sent in my boat to have the lower unit checked and fixed. Insurance is taking care of it. Got a call today saying they ordered the wrong lower unit. Mine is a P175LRS. They ordered a 175LRS. Now im being told that if they order the right one its gonna cost 1800 MORE then the other. So they are saying the NORMAL lower units cost was 2100 but the one i need is gonna cost 2100+1800....$3900!!!! WTH is up with that price difference???

Edit: Im sorry the Model number of the motor is what i posted for referencing the part. I dont have the actual lower unit part #.

Why not look the parts up yourself online and see what the differences are if you do not trust them.

The Pro Series gear cases do cost more, they are only used on the Pro Series or the V-Max series motors, Yamaha probably doesn't sell as many of them compared to standard gearcases which is used on several different models.
