im haveing trouble getting my lower unit back on what could it be holding it from going all the way in

be sure to put engine and throttle in neutral, easiest to trim up fully to make the unit weigh less, puts the weight on the motor and easier to see slipping the water line together.

      scott,
When stabbing the lower unit, the speedo tube must go thru the upper housing hole first. Then make sure the water pump tube lines up, and the gear shift rod. Make sure the remote control gear shift is in neutral AND the gear shift rod of the lower unit - you can test it by turning the prop shaft - if it is in neutral, the drive shaft will not turn. I had the same thing happen to me - the lower unit somehow got shifted into gear after I dropped it to do water pump repair. Being in gear will keep you from going that last half inch.
      Good luck,
      Ken K
