prop problem?

have 1990 40hp yamaha model40eltd the prop turns at slow speed but does not at higher rpms found fishing line wrapped around output shaft when we pulled boat in fall is this a spun prop? and how do you fix problem? thanks in indiana

These props can be repaired at a "propeller repair" shop, if you have one in your area, but for a 40HP motor you're probably better just to buy a new one, probably in the $65 range for aluminum, more for stainless steel. Good Luck!
