head gasket placement

Do the head gaskets have a top and bottom or can they be installed either way. I notice that the one side has more metal exposed around the cylinder holes. Nothing on the gasket indicated engine or head side. Any help would be appreciated. This is for a 99 S250TURX. Thanks.

As long as all bolt holes are lined up they will install either way.
