  • 2001 Yamaha 50 2 Stroke constant alarm

    2001 50 hp 2 stroke has a constant alarm
I unplugged the connector to the oil tank and it quits. Tanks is 3/4 full.
I unplugged the temp sensor wires and crossed them and the alarm sounds so it looks like it's OK while leaving the oil sensor unplugged. I thought the oil alarm was a beeping sound? Any suggestions? Here is a pic of the plug I unplugged to stop the alarm.

The low oil warning and overheat warning signals a constant alarm. Probably need to test the oil level sensor in oil tank.

I pulled the sensor out of the tank. I can move the black slide up and down and it will quit when I move it all the way up and down and stop in the middle but when I put it back in the tank it starts alarming again.

I believe he is saying that the float may not be floating properly or is binding to where it does not move the way it should.
