  • 89 Yamaha 40hp 2-stroke bogging down

I was running across the river the other day and it bogged down on me and would not power back up. It idles good, in neutral is revs up good, but when i put it in forward or reverse under a load it boggs down. Pulled the plug wire on all three cylinders one after the other wile running the motor and the only one that didn't bogg down was the top cylinder. The bottom two had a miss and you could tell that I pulled the plugwire. Changed all three plugs and gapped them to specs but it still did it. I am getting spark to all three cylinders. The motor has a strong "pee". I can't seem to figure it out. Is it my top carburetor? I just don't understand why it did it all of the sudden. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

sounds like the carb. pull them all, clean, look for something in jets or bowls, blow out with compressed air. Don't forget to do a link and sync on the linkage after putting back together and adjust carbs like manual says.
