  • engine submerged

We just finished with our first cyclone of the season. Not having the best of luck lost my boat and engine. We have recovered the engine and have torn it down. Looks like no major corrosion has taken place. I have a Yamaha F60 four stroke which was originally purchased from Australia. (F60CEHT 6C5-L-1001430N) My major problem living in Fiji is lack of expertise in dealing with a four stoke engine. I need some expert advice on what parts should be replaced besides gaskets, seals, filters, and plugs when a engine of this type has been submerged. I am heading for the States end of Dec and would like to have my shopping list ready. I would appreciate any help you can give. I too am new at this...

If you hone cylinders then will need to replace rings, Might measure oil clearance on bearings with Plasti-Gauge to see if within tolerances. Need to clean starter and fuel system and check for water damage, Check all electrical connections and componets for water damage.
