2000 Yamaha 175 V Max missing at higher RPM

I have a 2000 Yamaha V Max that runs all right at idle and at lower RPM's but when you get on it and go around 4000 to 5000 Rpm there is a small skipping that happens every 15 to 45 seconds, nothing regular. Have been using Marine Sta=Bil seem to help a little. I changed plugs and cleaned out fuel filter which didn't have but a very little trash in it. Any help would be appreciated.

It could be ignition or fuel problem, might start by cleaning carbs or Vapor separator tank and filter on elect pump.
