  • Sticky butterfly valves in throttle body

I am having great trouble setting the idle speed on my 2003 250 HPDI.

I have traced this problem to the throttle not closing fully (to the adjustment stop).

I have disconnected the throttle link and the oil pump link and the link that joins all the butterflys together and have traced the offending stickers to the top one (also controls the throttle sensor) and the 5th one down (which controls the oil pump linkage).

Cleaning with carb cleaner improved the problem slightly but they still will not close under the spring pressure. There appear to be some rubber bushings through which the shafts pass and I think these may be the causing the shafts to stick. Can these be changed?

Is some other problem more likely to be the cause?

No the bushings are not available, you might take it to your dealer and they can contact Yamaha to see if they can find parts to repair it.
