  • Yamaha 1984 70 ETLN crank case check valves

I am rebuilding my 70hp yamaha. I need to replace the check valves on the crancase & block. These are the one way valves that transport oil/fuel from the bottom of the crankcase to the top for bearing lubrication. Has anyone replaced these before? How do you get them out of the block?

You can apply a little bit of heat to block and twist them out of block.

great! When I install the new ones, will it help to heat the block again and push the new ones in? Would it help to chill the new valves in ice water?
