  • compression during breaking in

Dear forum members, I have a 90 HP AET outboard and It has 1 hour of use. I am following the breaking in procedure. I am curious and I made a compression test, It reads 110 lb in each cylinder. Is it normal? Will It raise when finishing the breaking in?. I use a very good manometer, so the readings are good. Thanks to all.

110 pounds is great compression now but it will probably increase as the motor breaks in. It's also important that all cylinders have approximately(within 10% of each other)the same compression. I believe a compression "leak-down" test is also used on these motors. Good Luck!
