50 hp four stroke problem

i have a 98 50 hp four stroke that has not been run since last aug . except for starting in the yard . it is on a 16ft carolina skiff. i tryed to run the boat the other day and when i got to the ramp the boat started fine i let it run for 3-4 min . then went to back off the trailer .as soon as i put it in reverse it cut off and now i can not get it to fire up again , nothing when i turn the key . the trim still works so it seems the engine is still getting power . is there a fuse that i should be looking for? that may have blown when the engine was put under a load . i dont know much about them but i think it has to be something simple. thanks Danny

Not sure if they are the same or not, but my 2005 50 4 Stroke has 4 fuses in the engine. They are all located together on the front side (facing the bow) of the engine near the top. Might be an easy place to start.
