  • F115 CDI problems

It's the third time I'm changing CDI on a 2004 F115, anyone knows where the problem could be originated... maybe the voltage regulator?
    Thank you

I'm not sure what the problem is, check for bad grounds and charge coil output.

      garifuna,
Man, you are spending a fortune on those CDI units! You must be frying them with an overvoltage from somewhere. Or it could be a bad ground connection to the CDI unit like boats.net suggested.
I believe there are at least two voltages from the coils that are part of the stator that feed the CDI, maybe one from the voltage regulator. You really need a Yamaha shop manual to see what these voltages should be. Since your motor is 2004 model, is it not still under warranty? Yamaha dealer should be able to hook up their diagnostic equipment and get a readout of the problem, yes?
      Good luck
