How Many Hours On Motor

On my 1999 S150 TXRX there was only a digital tach no hour meter. Other than taking it to a Yamaha shop is there a way to find out how many hours are on this motor?

Without an hour meter on it there is no way to find hours, the ECU on that engine does not record operating hours, only the HPDI models and fuel injected four stroke models.

I guess that seeing there were no buttons on the tach it is only going to give the red; green and yellow lights for the oil system, the trim position and rpm's?
