  • Bypass 6 to 4 cylender idle swich

When my 250 HPDI is in low idle or netral the engin runs very rough. I know I wold use more fuel but is there a way to by pass the switch that switches to the four cylinder mode? I have the dealer completely check the engin two times.

    Thanks, Ron

No I don't believe it could be bypassed. You shouldn't have to they don't idle real smooth but they idle ok.

Maybe you can tell me which wire goes to the console kill swich from the otor. 1988 150 EHT.

Thanks for your reply on my 250.

I'm out board poor, I have an old 1988 carb 150 hp and a 2005 EFI 150 and the 2007 250 hpdi I expected the 250 to idle as smooth as the 150's. Sure wish icould bypass the 6 to 4 cylender switch.

      Thanks again

The white wire is the ignition stop circuit wire that connects to key switch and landyard switch.
