Permatrim paint

Had to take the permatrim off my Yamaha 40 recently to repair a little bit of electrolysis around the mounting bolts. Would like to give it a coat of paint before putting it back on. Is there a good paint i could use for this? I tried a bit of normal enamel paint in an aerosol but it dosen,t seem to be as durable as the original coating.
