  • Is 6,000 rpm's ok?

C115 1997 YEAR. Motor runs fine but the manual says max RPMS are 5,500.
Is the manual conservative on this value for warranty reasons?
I have a 17 inch prop for *****ing and the motor runs at 6,000 on plane.

    Thank you.

    ROB,
I have a 2000 C115 on my Pathfinder 1806 and my max rpm is 5200. My manual says max "range" of 4500-5500. I think 6000 rpm is a little high for the C115. If most of your running is for *****ing, the 17 inch prop is fine - but I would not be running the motor above 5500.
    Good luck,
    Ken K

i had a pair of 1990 200`s and they would hit 6200 with a clipped overrev, which is great for speed but all mechanics will tell you its not good for the motor. you should step up to a 19 pitch, maybe 20-21.
