On the Drive Shaft, in the lower unit, and in the top of the main Bearing Housing there are two oil seals pictured, It appears that in the magnification window that BOTH seals face upward. The spring side of the seal towards the powerhead,. I Have been told by several people that when you have fluids on either side and there are two seals that the spring/cup sides oppose each other One to keep the gear oil in and the other to keep water out.> Is this the case with the Drive shaft seals? I see the same thing with the two prop shaft seals. Please let me know the correct orientation and why it is that way?
