  • 1994 250HP Powerhead Seize

Dad in-law's 1994 250HP powerhead seizure. suspected it was caused by lack of lube or flywheel though it (powerhead) was overhauled 2 years back, and since then clocked less than 50 hours usage.

    appreciate feedbacks for below:
    1. it costs (average) how much to rebuild ?
    2. any suggestion (url) for recon powerhead ?
    3. any newer model of powerhead which mount precisely into existing lower part.

    Thanks.

We only have new powerheads, number 1 in this diagram Yamaha Outboard Parts 1994 250TXRS CYLINDER CRANKCASE 1 Diagram
It's hard to say on cost of rebuilding, if the crank, rods or block is damaged then the cost may be too high to rebuild.
