motor help?

alright i need a little help?i have a 96 yamaha 25 hp tiller and today going down the river the red light came on.now i don't have book on my motor!the motor slow down and i turned around,and right after that the light went out.and the motor ran good.what just happen,what does the light mean. thanks

If it's a four stroke it's low oil pressure, if it's a two stroke oil injected model it's low oil level.

it's a 2-stroke but the oil was good,is it the oil sensoror does it even have anythanks

Test the oil level sensor in oil tank.
