  • 97 115 Help

Started getting the warning buzzer and since I bought it used I took it to a shop to let them check everything out. They replaced the waterpump, housings, seals, bearings, cleaned the water passages in the lower unit, thermostats, poppet valve, and added a pressure gauge.
It will idle all day and cruise at low rpm. Push it just a little and once it gets on plane the pressure gauge will quit moving like maybe it gets air in the line?
Then, I have to stop and idle for a minute or two then the pressure gauge will start moving again.
I've moved the motor up and down in 1/2" increments in the full range of the hyd. jack plate, trimmed it way in little at a time to out.
I removed the cavitation plate and repeated the process, same thing.
The shop could not find the problem, any help is VERY APPRECIATED!!!!

It has had this cavitation plate on it for as long as I know(bought it from my mother-in-law).

Check to see if has a transducer or something mounted in front motor that could interrupt water flow to water pump. If you can trim motor down and regain water pressure then motor could too high on transom.
