  • 50tlrd Primer Starter

I have a 2005 50 TLRD. It will not run good (bogs down when put in gear) unless I have the red fuel enrichment switch on "enrich"

Once I get going for a few seconds I can take the cover off and switch it to "normal" and the motor runs GREAT until I stop for more than a few minutes then I have to go through the entire process again.

I have cleaned the carbs, and changed the bulb.

Could it be the primer stater assembly has gone out???

Is there anyway to test this component?

    Any help is appreciated

    THANKS

I've been there done that....look at the primer bulb again and fuel lines and connections and possibly the anti-siphon valve(remove it or replace it) at the fuel tank.

I've been through 3 or 4 bulbs and fuel lines to get the correct combination.

When it works it works great.

I have tried the motor on 2 different tanks and it does the same on both. The anti syphon valve is that on the tank?

My tank is permantly mounted in the boat. Valve is in the outlet of the tank where the hose connects.
What about the on engine fuel filter or other filter in the system???

the only filter it has is the one on the motor. the tanks are on 6 gallon red plastic and a 12 gal red plastic.
