  • 97 50 TLHU Prop Spin Yamaha

Hopefully this is a simple fix. Engine runs great and once in gear will start to propel. Once additional throttle is added the engine will rev but feels like prop is not turning. I can idle across lake but when at higher engine rpm prop disengages and engine revs high.

Sounds like you may have spun the rubber hub in the prop. There is rubber in the prop to protect it from hits... But it is also susceptible to things like repeated hits from logs and fishing line... Get enough of that kind of stuff and add some torque and eventually it will start to spin under a load...

It will need to be reconditioned, not really serious if that is the problem.
