  • Snapped Bolt - Exhause Cover

Hey guys. I snapped a bolt when removing my exhaust cover. When looking at the cover, it is the second bolt from the bottom, on the right side. My question is, there are 18 bolts on this cover. Is there a chance I can get by without this one?

If I have to get it out, what is the best way to do it?

Thanks. Your help is much appreciated.

I would try to get broke out but you can try, if it leaks then it will have to be repaired.

I did the same thing several years ago. I ended up drilling the bolt out and retapping and have had no problems. However, I at first tried using and easy out which broke off in the hole and caused a lot of problems because they are harder than most drill bits. I would recomend drilling out the bolt. My bolt was low so I had to get a 90 degree attachment for my drill and this worked OK. Engine has at least another 100 hours on it with no problems.
