2HP serial # confusion

I am in Panama,trying to get parts for a 2hp,Its birthplace is unknown,but the serial # is 6F8K-S-1006965. Any rhyme or reason to this # versus a 2mshy
model from the US? Anybody experienced with these? Did the parts change much thru the years? Please drop a line if you can help, Thanks,
