  • How to tune a 4-stroke 80 AETL ?

Hi, I'd like to have an idea of how to put this working like a clock.

It's a 2001 F80 (in Europe its labeled F80 AETL, but it seems very similar to the US F80)

This year, it took quite an effort to put it to work for the first time, since last summer.

The engine is in a pristine condition, new spark plugs. All looks brand new.

would i need a strobe gun? Is that necessary on a CDI powered engine like this?

How to tune each of the 4 carbs?

By the way, what is the difference between the F80 and F100? is it the exaust? The intake and carbs seem pretty the same...

    Any clues would be great!

You didn't say what problem you are having but to sync the carbs you would need a set of carb synchronization vacuum gauges. To test ignition system would need a peak reading volt meter or a meter with a DVA adapter.

Thankx, boats.net. It seems I need a service manual first.

So, no strobe light anymore, right?
