  • No spark, how do I connect the cables?

    Hi

    The engine in question is an 80's something Yamaha outboard 60 hp, I'm sorry that I cannot be more specific.

    I can't get a spark from the plug and I'm not sure how to connect the wires.
    I have:

    Yellow = constant feed 12 V
    Red = start engine
    Brown = Signal to the start engine
    Blue = electric choke

    Then I have white, green and black, of which I know that black is ground.

    I have the electric choke, the start engine and the signal to the start engine working, but as I said, no spark. New spark plugs tried of course, no success. Any ideas what I can try?

    Many thanks in advance from Sweden

    If this the wires in main harness from engine to key switch then:
    Yellow= 12 volts with key on
    Red= 12 volts constant
    Black= ground
    Dark blue= choke
    Green= Tach signal
    White= Ignition stop circuit
    Brown= Starter circuit
    Pink= Warning circuit
    Light Green= Power Trim down
    Light Blue= Power trim up
