  • 1990 115 Yamaha jet drive - water problem

When I raise the RPM's I start getting water coming up underneath the power head. the more throttle, the more water. It's not overheating, I am getting water out the evacuation port and the performance is same same. Maybe its always done this but if it has I havent noticed it before. It appears to be like exhaust pressure or water pressure is forcing the problem, but I would like some kind of idea before I go diving in there.

    Any knowledge would be helpfull.

Is the water coming from inside the cowling? If the water is coming from in front of jet drive and spraying up on engine then try raising motor up on transom.

the motor has been attached to the same transom for 19 years. The water comes out even if your sitting still and just raising the RPM. Do you know how the water pump gets water into the powerhead? I'm am wondering if I have lost a seal of some sort.

sounds like you might have a base gasket leak, bottom of powerhead
