  • Proper RPM for "99" Yamaha 250 SWS

    I have a Yamaha 250 SWS with a 15 1/4 x 17p prop on a 1981 25ft Mako c/c
turning 5100 rpms at WOT, semi loaded boat ( 4 adults, 3 ****s, 1 child, 2 coolers, 1 big watermelon, and 1/4 tank of 120 gallons of gas).
Is this RPM OK for the motor or do I need to get higher or closer to the 5500?

I was running the same prop at 5500 rpms, but it was worn and nicked up. I replaced it with a new one and lost about 400 rpms. This new one has more "cupping" to the blades though.

Rpm range is 4500-5500 on that motor. 5100 fully loaded is ok.
