Changing to a new gear case on a 1985 40 Yamaha short shaft outboard model 40SK. Have been stopped from removing drive shaft from old case by a very tight pinion gear nut at the bottom of the drive shaft. Am starting to wonder if it might have a reverse thread. Is the nut at the bottom of the drive shaft a left or right hand thread?
