Dual F150s Dual Batteries

I have dual 2005 F150s with dual batteries and 1,2,all,off switches.
Question can you damage the charging system by running with both switches in the both position. I know it's better to run with 1 switch set to each engine.

I would like to know as well, and if any has

a good overview of dual motor battery management. Mine seem to run down quickly when I am on the drift with sonar/chart running.
