  • Alarm with no overheat or oil indication

Alarm sounded when oil ran low. Refilled, alarm sound quit, ran 10 minutes at 3300 rpm, alarm sounded again without any indication on the display that was oil low or overhetated. Idled down for 2 minutes, alarm stopped. Ran 3500 rpm 10 minutes and alarm souned again without oil / overheat notice (aka green full oil). Tryed 2 more times within 1 hour period with with same result.

Oil reservoir full on engine, engine did not seem hot when pulled cover off. I did shut down after 2nd alarm for abour 15 miniutes. Alarm sound still returned.

    What do you think?

    Curt,
If your oil level is ok and you are getting an alarm after running at 3300 for a few minutes and you have no overheat indication, then I would suspect eiher a faulty thermo switch or a restriction in the oil line.
You can take the thermo switch(s) out fairly easy and test them (get a factory service manual). If different kinds of oil have been mixed in the oil reservoir, a sludge/gel can form in the bottom and restrict oil flow. Disconnect the line from oil tank on the motor that feeds the oil pump and make sure it flows freely.
    Good luck,
