  • Onboard 2 stroke oii tank overfilling

    I have a 88 Excel 2.6L - 225
intermittently the onboard tank will keep filling - past the upper level indicator. I've changed the gasket on the sensor, as I thought that might be cause. Seems to make no difference?
    Any ideas?
What does that gasket do inside the small tank

Could be a bad sensor in engine oil tank or a bad oil module. Test the sensor first.

Noticed last night - when this occurs, there is a ton of smoke.

Is the engine getting more oil than required when the tank is being overfilled?

      Can this harm the engine?

      thx

The vent hose for engine oil tank is connected to air silencer on front of carbs, when it starts the engine will pull that oil into intake. It's not a real danger to engine could cause some plug fouling.
