  • HELP! 1989 mariner 30 AE

i have a 1989 mariner 30 AE. serial #689 401221. that is giving me trouble. it seams like its only running on one cylinder. i have about 140 pounds of pressure in both cylinders. i had the carb worked and cleaned by two difrent places and its not any better. the motor sat for a while before i got it. but it was running about 30mhp before with 2 guys now its running maybe 15 with just me. can anyone help? not sure what to do next. I heard from a friend that had a similar problem with a little bit bigger yamaha. That his problem was an overheat sensor. Woulnt allow to let the motor run wide open only less than half power. The shop just unpluged his and it worked great. Does anyone know anything about this or what wire it may be so I can try this

    Thank you
    Dave

The compression seems a little low, pull the head and check wear on cylinders.
