  • Control Arm removal

The victim : 1990 200 ETXD. The problem: Installing a new control steering arm and shift arm. The control arm is off the engine, with the lower housing still attached to the arm (getting this far was no small feat!)The circlip is corroded onto the bottom of the housing. Can I just grind off the circlip to remove the housing, or is the control arm pressed into the housing as well?

The Lower motor mount housing is splined and grinding the clip off would not be a problem.
