      Yamaha 40hp MLHW tiller

Will this 701 work with my 1998 Yamaha 40hp MLHW tiller arm outboard? As a conversion remote?

If it's a push to open control box and you don't want to start motor from control box then it will work.

I am a total newbie here and miles out of my depth! (excuse the pun!).
My question is (i think) similar to above?
I have acquired a Yamaha F9.9 with a 701 remote. The remote is right handed but my controls on my boat are on the left.

Can these remotes be swapped around ??

Can i just swap the cables around??

errr, does anyone know which cable goes where on the outboard ??

Don't know what model F9.9 you have but if it's a pull to open throttle then can use either
701-48101-51-00 701 pull to open, starboard side mount
701-48102-51-00 701 pull to open, port side mount

but 701 box is not reverseable

              It's an F9.9AE four stroke.
