Throttle cable adjustment

I have a binnacle mounted throttle trim control.
When at the full throttle position it slipps back to about 2/3 is ther a friction adjustment. Motor is a 2002 80 hp 4 stroke

Is yours a 704? If so, take the black cover off the shifter and you will see a flat head screw under the bottom side of the cover. Turn that and it will adjust your tension.
