  • Anodes

I am currently doing my winter time maintenance make ready for spring fishing on my Pathfinder with a (2000)C115 Yamaha. I always inspect and clean the two anodes I can get to: namely, the trim tab and the large single anode that is mounted on the bottom of the motor transom bracket. On page 3-21 of the Yamaha service manual, they show two small anodes in each side of the cylinder body assembly. My question is how in the heck do you get to these without removing the cylinder heads? Are these replaced only when you do a major overhaul?
    Thanks for the help.

You have to remove the heads to get them. If the other anodes are in bad shape then the ones in the head need to replaced also.I usually replace them at 400 hours.
