  • 1999 200hp 2 Stroke Oil Buzzer Warning

As I was pulling into my dock my the alarm went off and all three oil bars started flashing. I removed the engine cover and saw that oil level was at lower line. Tried the switch on the engine to fill the tank but nothing happened Maybe too much tilt for pump to work. Whenever key is in on position the buzzer sounds. There is oil in the larger tank in the bilge .Any trouble shooting help would be appreciated

    Thanks

If oil tank in boat is below 1/4 full then it will not transfer oil. When using the emergency toggle switch on engine the ignition has to be on and motor tilted down, it sometimes takes a little while before you notice it filling up. If possible listen next to boat oil tank to see if can hear pump running with toggle on.

      Few questions

1)So tilt needs to be all the way down

      2) If I do not hear the pump would that mean pump is bad

Yes motor needs to be level.
If pump doesn't run check wiring going to pump and check pump. You can disconnect wires to pump and connect the pump direct to battery to test.
